After thinking and praying, two members of the group decided to take a year out from their studies to give school talks around the country. This was the beginning of Pure in Heart ‘mission team‘,a group of young people who propose the Church’s teaching on sexuality in an attractive way to their peers.
The four pillars of Pure in Heart are:
P is for Prayer – individually and in community,
U is for Unity – within the group and within the Church,
R is for Respect – for the leadership and each other person
E is for Evangelisation – sharing with others the truth, beauty and meaning of human sexuality.
All four pillars are essential for Pure in Heart and its members to continue to grow in faith, hope and love together.
The weekly prayer meeting continued, their sole intention now being the work of the mission team.
The Pure in Heart community meet every week to pray for the mission and enhance their faith… interested in coming along? Click here
In 2008, Pure in Heart set up their first international youth group in Boston, USA. Since then groups have been set up all over the world with two further groups established in the US and also groups in England, Wales, France, Haiti, Kenya and Liberia. If you’re interested in setting up group we’d be delighted to hear from you!
Pure in Heart is a registered charity. Our work is supported by the generosity of our benefactors and past members of Pure in Heart. If you like what we’re doing and would like to support us in some way, a donation would be very much appreciated.
We pray everyday for our benefactors and offer their intentions at our weekly youth mass and monthly vigil.
