Have you ever worked really hard to achieve something and it never came into fruition, perhaps you trained very hard to try to get on a sports team, but you never made the team, maybe you studied super hard to get a qualification but you are finding it difficult to get a job in the field you studied, there are many times in our lives we don’t get what we want. Dwelling on what we didn’t get helps nobody, we are happiest when we celebrate and cheer other people’s successes. You might think you need something to make your life complete, but God says; ‘just wait on me. I have something better planned for you’. If you trust God, he will not disappoint. You are created in the image and likeness of God, with a purpose, with gifts and talents no one else has. You are LOVED by the King of Kings.
Our seasons in life change often, maybe the job you thought that would last forever let you go, you broke up, you are struggling financially, the season changed. We live in a world of seasons. We must remain in God, he is the same yesterday, day and tomorrow, the way, the truth and the light. Ephesians 2:19-22 remains us that God’s house is FOREVER.
So then you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and are of God’s household, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the cornerstone, in whom the whole building, being fitted together, is growing into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you also are being built together into a dwelling of God in the Spirit.
Ephesians 2:19-22
You are enough
Jesus said, ‘I have come so that they may have life and have it to the full.’ (John 10.10)
One of the biggest self-doubts all of us fall into is am I enough? We tell ourselves that we aren’t enough because we look to the culture that runs around us and we feel like there isn’t a space for us to just be enough. We get lost in our own insecurities and doubts and we forget how much of our identity in Jesus really is enough. “See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him.” 1 John 3:1. You have been called for a great purpose as a son or daughter of God. Scripture reminds us that the “fullness of Christ, and the emptiness of the universe without him. When you come to him, that fullness comes together for you, too. His power extends over everything.” Colossians 2:9-10. We are called to live our lives knowing our identity in Christ and to say no to the lies that world throws at us; that you are not enough, you need to look like this, your not successful enough, etc. Christ wants you to live life to the FULL.
Live life to the full
To live a live of fullness, you have to realize that fullness comes from Jesus. When you follow Jesus, a whole new life opens up for you. It’s a life that doesn’t become easy, it’s filled with new challenges, and issues to overcome. Yet having him next to you, guiding you, and helping you. It all becomes easier, as long as you continue to follow him.
